I need one feature and one feature only:

Control the apps internet connectivity.

When your flashlight app needs a constant internet connection to function properly we have a problem.

The article mentioned something about connectivity, but I read 3 times and I still don't know what it means.

I use Netguard for this. Works well.

No root required, open source etc.

That's a good option, although unfortunately it prevents the concurrent use of VPNs.
