I sign my emails with PGP all the time.

One of the problems I noticed is that the signature ends up as an attachment and that confuses the hell out of many people.

Did you send me an attachment? What was that file I couldn't open it!

Once (or rather, if) PGP gains some traction this problem will disappear; email clients will improve the UX to show a specialised "PGP signed" box and hide the attachment.

That's what I thought. But after 5 years I gave up and do not sign my emails any more.

It's been 23 years since MIME Security with Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) was proposed.

I'm starting to think that someone really doesn't want this to happen.

I do the same and I get that a lot. Most of the time from people using Outlook.
