I almost wonder if these movements are driven in part, or at least encouraged by, foreign state actors within these companies, who have interests in hampering US military dominance.
Not sure about this one, but in the Vietnam era, many anti-war activists were Soviet spies, or influenced by Soviet spies, or communists who have no direct connection to the Soviets but want to see communism takes over the world.
