Most of the answers are either "well that's true, the protocol doesn't allow it, but implementations do it in non-standard ways" or "we are working on it" or "oh this is not a problem with Wayland, see, Wayland is just a protocol". i.e. at least half of the criticism, as of today, is still practically true.
