Will blockchain be a force as impactful as writing itself? I remember a short story (possibly fictitious) involving Native American tribes and a missionary who introduced writing. The permanence of record changed the way they live and the debate of standings between the tribes. What was once a negotiation tactic (by "remembering" that their ancestors fought together/who married who) becomes merely a bookkeeping routine. A lesson was sometimes, what matters is not what happened in the past. What will change when useful, ubiquitous, and user-friendly blockchain applications are plenty?
