Is China paying a bounty on stolen autonomous vehicle information?
Do you think that China, or Chinese companies, are putting word out that people coming back with information about autonomous vehicle technology will get paid a bounty?
I think this because the recent Chinese nationals being caught about to leave the country with AV data / info -- I doubt they're outright spies. In fact, they were so downright clueless about how they were behaving and attracting attention that they must be amateurs.
Leads me to think there must be some channel through which they find out that such data / intel would be valuable and could be bought.
What do you think? Can this be happening? Have you ever encountered this kind of explicit bounty on some corporate secrets, with anyone you've heard of or worked with?
