Ask HN: How do you manage yourself for side projects?

When I work on something I'm interested in and building for myself, I find it's really easy to start working non-stop and lose sight of the goal (to ship). I've started using a Trello board just to break down tasks into workable chunks, and it's helped a bit. I'd ideally like to be able to convert the initial energy into a more sustainable cadence-- any tips from people who have successfully done this?
