We don't really know what it's written in anymore, since the new version is closed source, but given that they had to rewrite it because of how slow it was, it's unlikely they chose Python again.
They never claimed to be rewriting it, just that it would no longer be open source. They still have a few Python components actively working. I think it's safe to say Reddit hasn't migrated to a new language secretly.
