Ask HN: How did you find your CPA/tax advisor?
Backstory: It's that time of the year again, where my books are closed and cleaned, and I'd normally be buying the next year of TurboTax (one for personal, one for business). I've been doing my own taxes for the past many years just because it was easy enough to do, but this year I'd rather go find someone. It just wastes too much of my time trying to file for two different businesses on top of doing my own stuff, and I know a professional would do a better job. On top of that, I'd love to find a CPA or someone that could advise on the changing regulations like Section 199A here in the US and I've always wanted to have someone on tap that could answer financial questions as they arise, instead of me doing my best on Google.
Would love any suggestions on places or associations you've turned to, or ways that you've found pros that have been solid for you.
