Are there competitors who could buy up this California infrastructure when PG&E dies?
Meanwhile, a week before the fires up North, a crew of LADWP workers swept my neighborhood replacing transformers, cables, insulators and mounting bars on every pole for blocks around me. The kind of maintenance that PG&E should have done over a decade ago. I don't know what the rates are on PG&E, but I do know LADWP charges a little more than half the price for electricity as SoCal Edison does in the areas it serves.
LADWP is owned by the City of Los Angeles.
