I've taken to opening every nytimes article in an incognito window, it seems to help. Probably too late for you now though.

Somehow they seem to feel that there's nothing in between a casual observer and someone who gets a vital portion of their news from them. I wouldn't mind slipping them a few bucks, and I've done so for the Guardian, but their full subscription rate is just too steep for what I would gain from it.

The internet needs some sort of fast, widely acceptable pay-with-one-click system. If the article asked me to pay 10 cents to read, I'd do it.

Easy enough to implement with the Payment Request API [0], which is a standard, and implemented in most browsers, and most payment processors.

I’d love something like that. Even if I had to buy say $10 a month and had some credits to burn down each month. I don’t however want to subscribe to every news outlet. There are only a handful of articles I’d read from each.

This is close enough to how Brave works that you may as well use it and see how you like it. Adoption is a chicken and egg problem; be a chicken.

Simple: dogecoin.

If its so simple, explain the use case in this situation.

Defeating nytimes's paywall is a simple matter of disabling Javascript in your browser.
