If you haven't seen iminlikewithyou.com, you're missing out. Their AJAX-rich interface is definitely slick. Lucky for you kind souls post here offering invites for nothing. Unlucky for you I'm not one of them. This time you have to work for it.
I want you to go through the demo on ourdoings.com and give useful feedback. If more than five people give feedback I'll pick the five most useful. "Useful" is defined as matching the feedback I'm getting from my actively-posting users, or that I imagine would help them.
The target market for ourdoings.com is people who have a lot of photos but little time to share/organize. Parents with lots of kid photos is one example. Travlers are another. This isn't a social networking site for photography enthusiasts; it's designed for speed and simplicity.
I know there are people who frequent news.yc and are in the child-rearing phase of life. You know exactly what this is about, and I really hope that both of you give feedback. For the rest of you who see this as a boring site for old people, just think of all the fun you'll have with your iminlikewithyou invite.
I think I got all the way through the demo, in any case it is very frustrating. I think that the whole interface is insufficiently intuitive. Considering the fact that your target demographic is (often) non-technical families, I would reorganize the methods of interaction.
There should be a simple pathway for every task that hides irrelevant actions on each step. For instance, once someone uploads a set of photos the option to upload more should be hidden until the user complete modifying the photos or returns to a 'home' page.
You are facing some very serious competition. There is a lot of work to be done before you launch.
Frankly, if you need a tutorial for an application like this, your interface isn't good enough.
In the demo, the text should be larger.
I'm also not sure what to do with photos. Can you link them to entries?
You need to make a link that says "Home". I don't know which is the main page that I'm supposed to be looking at...edit: Maybe make a main page that is just those links you have in the bar above with a short summary of what you do on that page.
This is a neat idea though and it is quick and simple.
I'd advise you to work on your copywriting. With all the free photo hosting sites out there already I don't think people care about average number of photos times x number of cents to host per year. They just want to know how easy it is and that it's free or that they are getting an incredible deal by paying a subscription fee.
If you're targeting people who are new to the web, talking about zip archives will likely scare them away. Keep it simple.

About your botanical garden photos -- I don't expect to compete with flickr for that kind of situation, where several hundred photos are from one event and thus don't really need organizing. Several hundred photos that could be organized for you by date is the kind of need I address.

Looks good to me. But then again, the choice of colors and sleekness of logo all depends on your target audience. So saying "its sweet" doesn't really make much sense as of now.But again, thats my first impression.
So please send me an invite. :) (hoan@ton-that.org)
Hey, I think I'm third -- ralph@inputplus.co.uk -- thanks.
If you give brlewis site feedback as well, then I'll even throw in an upvote :)
