Ask HN: Where to discuss the future of software?
It's an horrible experience for both users and developers. The fragmentation keeps getting worse, and so does the associated decision fatigue.
The are too many applications, websites, frameworks, programming languages, developers. We need to delete everything and start over.
Most people are pragmatic and conservative. They care about problems they can solve today. They're satisfied with incremental improvements. They couldn't care less about far-away moonshot theories of software.
I want to read from people interested in the future of software. I then want to ask questions, and ultimately contribute.
I'm looking for people like:
- Ted Nelson
- Tim Berners-Lee
- Douglas Engelbert
- Alan Kay
- Bret Victor
- Chris Granger
- Evan Czaplicki
- Juan Benet
- Vitalik Buterin
Where do people like these hang out (preferably online)? Where can I learn much about the state of the art of software?
