Ask HN: Is FireSheep prevention now high on your app's priority list?

I'm not planning to launch my next app for a while but I'm really not wanting to go down the annoying path of SSL/TLS if my app doesn't go anywhere. Is this really the turning point where SSL/TLS is now an expected feature? I know patio11 has been active in changing over but after having some time to think about it, are other HNers planning on retrofitting old apps and implementing this stuff before the lauch of new apps?
