We expect at least one cheap Linux board next year, and possibly more. Can't go into more details, sorry.
The main feature really just seems to be "it's RiscV". A 180MHz Teensy is half the cost, and likely able to do most, if not all, things this can do.
Makes sense though. First mover is probably a good PR move for SiFive.
What kind of board is everybody waiting for than the Raspberry Pi(zero) isn't providing?
People are excited for RISC-V instead of Raspberry Pi's ARM.
Documented hardware that works without binary blobs.
I let OpenBSD’s level of support be my litmus test. If everything on the board works out of the box with OpenBSD, it probably acheived a high degree of openness.
So which boards fit the bill? Thanks!
Could explain further?
Don't the Pis still have everything attached over USB?
