I imagine that a successful implementation of this will eventually become a feature of the web, agnostic to any one company, and interoperable across the current cloud services as well as the emergent Web3.0 protocols and federated social networks. Have you heard of blockstack? Seems similar to what you’re describing.

It sounds a lot like TBL’s Solid with a blockchain tacked on.
