Ask HN: Cheap tablets for wall-mounted displays?

Recently I replaced my old tablet with a shiny new Tab S4. Not wanting to waste the old one, I took some Command picture-hanging strips, stuck it to the wall above my desk, and put my to-do kanban board there just to see what happened. It turned out to be great. Having a visible, touchable to-do list means I spend more time on task and keep my list up to date.

Now I want to experiment further. What other information radiators would I benefit from having? I am looking for cheap but reliable tablets that I can just stick to the wall and use for a couple of years without messing around. Currently all I need is a decent browser, but I could imagine making some purpose-built apps.
