Ask HN: API for categorized lists of public companies?

1 pointn130 comments

I'm looking for an API for categorized lists of public companies. Some of the examples of the lists are: IPOs 2016, Tech, Oil etc. If there's no existing API then any suggestions or ideas to automate the process are welcome.
