Thanks, Gopal. I didn't do much, just maintained it on life support. Recently some good contributors arrived: Jakob and Tom. Let's hope this really revives the project.

AFAIK, llvm jit is incredibly slow, to the point that certain emulators that have used it have had to drop it for performance's sake.

IIRC LLVM relatively recently did a major overhaul of the JIT API, including better support for lazy compilation. That might improve compilation speed drastically
