If you love helping people then medicine can be a good choice. But practicing medicine has changed considerably in the last 10-20 years with managed care. While I come from a family involved in medicine, I was always encouraged to pursue my passion for computers instead because the rewards of being a doctors are just not what they were. You might be painting a picture a bit too pretty for the lifestyle of the average doctor.
