Dewalt DCB1800B – 720 watt hour portable power station
The top comment proposes a much more portable (but more expensive) recipe, which includes the "Anker PowerHouse to store the energy. 400 WH which is about the same capacity"[2].
However, I think a much more interesting option for a big portable battery that you can charge from mains power and later use as a mains power source is this dewalt battery charger.
Assuming you have dewalt battery powered tools anyway and you, of course, need to charge them, this allows you to charge four at a time while giving you the added utility of a backup residential power supply. If you populate it with the 9 amp hour batteries, you get 720 watt hours, as opposed to the 400 watt hours of the originally suggested (Anker Powerhouse) device.
Hopefully this is useful to anyone who was looking at a recipe like this ...
