Tell HN: Four completely free classes from Lambda School (YC S17) begin tonight
I'm the co-founder of Lambda School - a school that trains people to be software engineers in live online classes. We're launching three completely free classes tonight (yes, free as in beer).
Intros to:
Full-Stack Web Development: https://lambdaschool.com/courses/cs/web/101/
iOS Development: https://lambdaschool.com/courses/cs/ios/101/
Android Development: https://lambdaschool.com/courses/cs/android/intro/
UX Design: https://lambdaschool.com/courses/ui-ux/intro/
All are taught by absolutely expert instructors. For iOS you'll need a Mac and Xcode, for Android you'll need to download Android Studio, for Web Development you'll need a browser, for Android you'll need a free trial of Sketch.
The classes will be livestreamed and we'll invite you into a Slack workspace where we have help standing by if you have questions. Generally they follow the format of 45-60 minutes for a lecture/introduction to a topic, 90 minutes of project work-time (again, help available as needed), then a small group standup with a TA to review what was learned, make sure any questions are covered, etc.
If you can't attend live you can still get access self-paced, but of course we can't guarantee we'll have people standing by 24/7 to help you.
Anyway, just thought this might be helpful. Cheers!
