Yesterday there was a thread about predicting negative consequences of tech, and the dominant narrative was “how could lowly CS folks predict the future”. But is anyone really surprised here?

well shit...there goes the drone industry. What exactly can anyone do to secure public gatherings from drone attacks? Man...this feels scarier than random shooters to me.

For once jam Wireless/GSM. This will prevent remote controlling and will require some sort of self-guidance system (neural net, pre-programmed route).

You can also take any drone down. There are various solutions, from hawks (as in bird) to wire-net launchers and lasers.

You woke up too late and missed plenty of other bombing incidents with small retail drones. Yet the industry is still here.

And they missed :(
