Hacker News Reader

Serious question... why does this story have 100+ upvotes (so far) when virtually all the comments seem to indicate this is FUD and how API's are designed to work?

Because Google bashing is important for some people, regardless of the claims being true or not.

I'm amazed nobody's talked about Reader. The Google bashing thread graph always terminates in a Reader cycle.

I often find stories upvoted for the comments alone. I've upvoted poor articles with great rebuttals.
