Reminds me of Craigslist scams. The solution for CL scams was to only meet in public/safe areas, what is the solution for these muggers? Send a officer sometimes to sting sketchy bait scooters?

What a thirsty site...

subscription box that follows you around,

and of course the good old WAIT BEFORE YOU GO thing when you scroll away,

it's like a demo of all annoying dev practices

Site works fine with NoScript enabled, though, which was nice. Blocked 11 domains.

I'm a newb what does it stand for?

CCW means Concealed Carry Permit, in the US Southeast.

I’m assuming the poster was recommending legaly carrying a firearm when working alone in the streets at night.

That seems like it would reduce your odds of getting robbed, but increase your odds of being shot. I am not sure if that's a great trade-off, but worth considering.

Why guess? The FBI has a full battery of statistics on anything and everything gun related, including CCW license holders.

Concealed Carry is a self selecting population which makes it hard to separate the population from the action of carrying.

Which is why I am not simply digging into statistics. I am sure people make arguments in both directions.
