As I invest my money, I'm constantly confused by the modern financial system. I get a lot of information from the media but I don't understand what they mean on a deeper level. Some examples: How is money created from debt? Why is interest rate so important? What exactly do banks do?

As someone who has never learned finance systematically, where should I start from the basics and gradually go deeper?
