Given the sheer number of Xooglers involved in startups and non-profits, one can play the guilt-by-association game ad infinitum. If I leave Google, chances are I'll try to raise money for a startup, and no doubt, I would use any connections or acquaintances from people I have met or worked with at Google to facilitate that, who wouldn't? But working with people, or having worked with them in the past, doesn't mean you're controlled by them as a "sock puppet".
