Choosing one note from the beginning is agreeing technical debt is an awesome thing:
- you're stuck with Windows (or whatever mac version they did)
- no way to properly version control it (proprietary
format and not just text)
- good luck to migrate somewhere else (I already experienced it with a colleague that left the company and had his entire knowledge base in there ...)
- you got to be happy with the direction Microsoft is taking it.

I don't know about this tool but org mode is as open as it can be and it's been here since years, text based. The time investment is minimal if you just want to use it, it's just all the features around that can take time. You can literally put R code snippet in your org document and execute it straight from there but that's just one of the many features org mode has to offer
