Ask HN: How complex is your Postgres setup?

Heya,

I was looking for some articles on postgres and there seems to be a lot of opinions on the matter.

I've mostly used with a single master or a master and a replica, and behind pgbouncer.

However the architecture can have a lot of different parts, it seems that companies like 2ndquadrant offer a range of solutions.

I also read a lot of horror stories about automating things like failover or using master to master replication.

How complex is your postgres setup? Any gotchas / tools that you like / dislike / have came across?
