Ask HN: Does GDPR kill consumer genetic testing in Europe?
Quick question for the masses: My understanding was that the consumer genetic testing business model is based on a loss-leader on the testing and analysis based on later sale of data (please correct me on this if I'm wrong). But GDPR will allow Europeans to withdraw their consent for use of their data once they've had the testing done. Will this undermine genetic testing services in Europe?
