I do trade some cpu power in exchange for no ads thanks to ublock origin.

I take it you don't have a powerful one that drains 150W. I can trivially hear the fans (GPU or CPU) if someone site attempts to over-utilize the available hardware resources.

I don't see a problem with heating the room in the winter. [1]

heating via electricity is less efficient (cost wise) than via natural gas.

Heating with nuclear energy is even more.

Thats the point.

I don't think GPU mining is the browser is available. There's no WebCL or anything like that yet.

IIRC someone demonstrated mining via WebGL but I don't know if it was practical/more effective than CPU-mining.
