Mine did. It has existed for about 90 years, maybe even longer. Without going into specifics, I can imagine that it could be automated as is right now, as it's not particularly complicated, and the whole role could be designed around so that it's not required anyway.

(I believe I'll be out-of-work within a few months because of implications from the latter statement.)
