Developers are busy with workarounds for serious bugs in Intel's Core 2 (2007)

Yes, all of those later i-series processors are based on improvements to the original core cpus.

I don't know enough about low level C, operating systems, or CPUs to know if what Theo was saying is directly related to the flaws recently published but if so, holy crap.
