The article seems a little shallow. Many questions are left unanswered. Just projecting where the future jobs will be OR customizing learning based on preferable modes of learning, probably will NOT eliminate poverty. Universal basic income along with more humane policies could help.

Love the comments on here. I posted this article not because I agree with the article's take, but because I wanted to see what the HN community thinks of the article (and the topic). I haven't been disappointed!

Agreed. Even the very early results in UBI have shown it to be extremely promising for those hit hardest by poverty, and shows a novel rethinking of the problem.

Using AI to attack the fundamental problem of human QoL vs. automation/efficiency/profits is just continuing to escalate a never-ending arms race.
