Is there evidence that dependency injection improves outcomes?

DI just means that you inject the functions/objects you'll need in your module. There is no black magic or anything. To me, it's the only way to build decoupled systems with good separation of concerns.
This seems to me like pushing the the dependency problem somewhere else rather than solving it.
