Are there really jobs popping up in the Blockchain space?

I remain skeptical about blockchains and their real-world applications in commercial software. However, I saw this article today: "Blockchain jobs continue to explode, offer salary premiums" [1]. I don't know anyone with a job involving working with blockchain. Does anyone here have a job/know someone with a job working on blockchain software?
