I've noticed that my TV takes a while to change resolution+refresh rate, which typically happens in concert with switching inputs to/from my Chromecast.

Hardcoded "everything is NTSC" vs a mutual handshake/negotiation and mode change makes sense, though I too wish it was much faster.
