Ask HN: Is it legal to charge $150 for online test attempts at scrum.org
I work for one of the Australian Big 4 banks and we are required to undergo third-party Scrum training and subsequent online multiple-choice testing. There is a $150 fee for every attempt to complete the test [1] and the course itself was in the $thousands. Given that the assessment is multi-choice and does not allow human checking, is this borderline scamming? I can understand that this might be a motivator for people to complete the test without failing, however, the number of re-attempts could be disclosed to my employer, rather than charging them $150 each attempt.
