Hidden Crypto-Mining Comes to Mobile Apps

Here are some random thoughts on the matter.

1. This is scary. Any app you've installed and forgot to remove may receive an update and start doing it and you simply won't be aware. The apps from the article were doing during the night when the device was charging, zero chance one could've noticed it.

2. AV companies are happy. Finally, there is a (one more?) legitimate reason for using a mobile AV app.

3. I think the idea of mining in exchange for goods has a great potential, but it seems that nobody even tries to use it in a legit manner. It might replace ads or paywalls, but it's more likely to end up being a "new adware" if nothing changes.
