I like the rules that lays out in this article. However, I don't see his argument against Writing Idiomatic Python. He cherry picked two methods that (correctly) could have been written better. However, this does not mean that all idioms are bad, and he doesn't provide any examples where using an idiom is sometimes bad and sometimes good.
Additionally, it seems like the word idiom is just re-skinned as a "rule" in this article.
