How Many Visitors Do You Get from the Hacker News Front Page?

1 Website on a $5 VPS may be stupid, but 5 websites on a 15$ VPS most likely work great. Let me explain: $5 VPSes are rarely ment for production, they just have enough resources to have "something" running. A $15 VPS usually is big enough to hold X websites, plus has enough backup power should one of the sites explode.

Now use Cloudflare as DNS and ship your static CSS & JS files over a CDN. And done, your website is kind of bullet proof.

Source: I've ranked #2 and #1 on HN, and Frontpaged on Reddit a few times as well. Never did any site of mine go down even thought i host on a budget.

Please don't put "Show HN" on blog posts. Everything would be a "Show HN" if we allowed that.
