As a good pythonista, I know this is not a list, but a set.

And it makes sense - why would one need the same phone to appear more than once?

actually in python you make sets from lists, as in set([1, 2, 3, 4]). {} is for dicts.

I am thinking Python 2.7/3.1 ;-)

Note that {} still means an empty dictionary, not an empty set.
