I guess it's possible that Apple never considered the Sun when they were designing this.

They showed videos of people using it in bright sunlight as well as in the dark.

If they used a variety of frequencies alternating at some known sequence or something it should be possible to differentiate signal from noise, but I have no idea what I'm talking about.

For what it's worth, I sometimes have trouble getting my Surface (one of the ones with Windows Hello) to recognize me when I'm in my apartment and the bright sun is shining through. I've never tried using it outdoors (not that the reflective glass would be encouraging of that), so I can't really speak on that.

I thought the MS Surface already had facial recognition unlock, so how are the stories of it in sunlight?

my issue with facial recognition on the phone is, will it try to unlock if I am just reading notifications/texts? not something I want it to do.
