Bitcoin Cash is Terrifying

Medium != journalism.
Given the current era of hardline identity politics I'm surprised it hasn't amplified though.
Bitcoin cash is neither Bitcoin nor cash. It's a shitty altcoin, hastily created by big blockhole miners for big blockhole miners, who want to centralize Bitcoin so they have more power over it. And it doesn't fucking work. The blocks are either running or standing still because the difficulty adjusts to easily.
The toxic community is /r/btc/ and the non-toxic community is /r/bitcoin/. The latter will remove all posts unrelated to Bitcoin (BTC), because that's the sort of subreddit they choose to be.
If you want to discuss a particular cryptocoin, either go to the appropriate cryptocoin's subreddit or /r/cryptocurrency/.

- BTC terrified the established finance community and governments as it upended the way currency traditionally operated. I.e. Controlled by the government and traditional finance community.
- it also stoked interest in the established financial community and governments. As always "hey we can make money with this ourselves" / "hey we can control this ourselves"
- infiltrate the community, promote a fork with far more institutional controls and structure
- naysayers and those not up for the new agenda: discredit and destroy that community. Deploy resources to make that happen, after all they have limitless resources.
Seems a pretty typical playbook...
