what makes this clerical error newsworthy?

Zzz. Second sentence of the article “Google Fiber quickly restored her connection and forgave the 12-cent balance after she called customer service”

(Disclosure: I work for Google, but a 750 word piece about how someone didn't check the email account billing went to isn't really news, I do it all the time.)

Sounds like a minor issue that was corrected.
