For all the problems that it brings anonimity has that good facet.
When reading threads like this from 4chan I feel the spirit of the internet of yore, when everything was more free and we were a little more sincere.
>The best is when these phony, virtue signaling liberal CEOs on HN are confronted with the idea of forming a silicon valley union. They absolutely shit a brick.
Is there any truth to it? Has this ever been discussed on HN before?
no one wants added cost or loss of control in their company and I am sure many in leadership positions think they are doing far more than is perceived by the line workers.
in the US unions earned their bad reputation but are a very strong political force at the state level because of public employee unions. we have sufficient laws to protect workers in any industry these days but it was not the case fifty or a hundred years ago. today's unions are more about the political power they can wield than the workers they protect.
That is the goal of such comments, nothing more, nothing less. It's like the biker gangs/prisoners who wear prominent swastikas - not espousing national socialism (seriously), but just a way of saying "I wholly reject your culture, your taboos and feelings, and want this to be known as quickly as possible."
I'm not sure why you hate "Pajeet" so much but be sure that he's only trying to do the best for himself.
Thanks to the startup eco system the quality of indian devs is surely but slowly going up .
And now I'm being downvoted for calling out racism against me . Great job .
I'm afraid the only way here is to make India more desirable place than US (and then accept everybody who wants to come).
Just leaving for greener pastures won't qualify.

This. Since the last US presidential election, the signal-to-noise ratio on HN has slowly but steadily being diluted with a ever increasing constant stream of political propaganda posted by the virtue-signaling crowd.
Some of it manages to be filtered out of HN's main page, but sometimes browsing /newest is a sure way to flair up the good ol'carpal tunnel flagging political propaganda submissions.
Why X is bad and you should use Y
(15 minutes later) Why Y is worse than X and you should still use X
Ok... that is right up against the bone.
