In PG's essay from 2001, he makes the case that Lisp beating the averages was instrumental to the success of his startup. To give the question some focus, let's consider web development only. What stack beats the averages today? Or have we reached an asymptotic point where full stacks [1] are all about equally capable and we are no longer able to truly beat the averages?
