Similarly, in czech localization it was "Tento pocitac" ("This computer") since Windows 95. Windows 7 uses just "Pocitac" and I honestly have no idea what is the translation used in 10.
As opposed to "Desktop" which was left untranslated. Ubuntu translates it as "Schreibtisch", which my mother found pretty confusing, maybe because she doesn't speak English.
Ubuntu has probably emulated macOS here, which translates the Desktop as "Schreibtisch" as well.
