Ask HN: What do people communicate most?
Lately, we've been shifting from single-purpose apps that can order pizza or hail cabs to general-purpose AI, digital assistants and messaging bots.
Naturally, we want these systems to be as useful as possible. This means that they should properly support the most common requests. That is, what people communicate the most.
I'm looking for information regarding sentence usage, app usage, digital assistant features, etc.
Ultimately, I'd like to work with a list of test cases such as:
- I want to get to [location].
- I want to be reminded of [thing] at [time].
- I want to send [amount of money] to [person].
- I want to be friend with [person].
- I want to apply for [job].
- I want to read [book].
- I want to own [product].
- I want to eat [food].
- I want to buy [x] shares of [stock].
- I want to sell my [thing].
- I want [lightbulb] to be on.
- I will be late to [event].
- I weight [weight].
- I ate [food].
- I watched [movie].
- I am at [location].
- I feel [emotion] about [thing].
- The price of [thing] at [location] is [price].
- The temperature at [location] is [temperature].
- The [road] is blocked.
- This [location] is open from [time] to [time].
I believe that having such a list would make it easier to design, test and compare these systems. Here's a few related projects:
