How to Build an Ethereum Mining Rig That Makes $597.83 a Month

I have no idea how often the individual components break down, but you'd have to take that cost into account as well. You'll probably want to upgrade components as they become obsolete. Then there's the thing about there being no guarantee that cryptocurrencies will continue to be worth something at all (market/concentration risk). If your rig doesn't make as much money as you were expecting and you need to sell the whole rig for parts, how much will you actually be able to get back? (liquidity/horizon risk)
The point is, this comes out to a lot of work for only ~$2000 for your first year, and it's not guaranteed that the subsequent years of running the rig will be without their own costs. At first sight, a 33.5% return on investment looks great, but you need to consider the risks before jumping in.
(On the other hand, chances seem fairly good that this gold rush will collapse as well, and then miners will have to dump their cards quickly on eBay or whatever).

They will also greatly reduce the price of the rig.
